Children's Ministry Programs


Sunday Morning

Joy Trek is our 9:30am Sunday School program for children age 2-4. Each week children will learn a Bible story, do a craft, participate in music and have something to bring home. Contact Dawn Johnson for more information.

PEAK Adventures is our 9:30am Sunday School program for children K-grade 4. Each week children will learn a Bible story in a different way through our rotation model. Children also will be able to participate in music and large group time as well. Contact Sharon Oliver for more information.

Tweens ROCK is our 9:30am Sunday School program for children in grades 5 & 6. This program is part of our Tween Scene Ministry and is a time to learn about the Bible and explore questions. Contact Sharon Oliver for more information.

Godly Play is our Sunday morning program for children age 4-grade 6 during the 11:00am worship service. Godly Play includes a lesson told in interactive story format and learning stations and crafts for children to further their experience of the story. Contact Samantha Leahy for more information.

Childcare

Nursery care is available during all of our worship services for children birth through age 2 and through age 3 during our 8:00am and 11:00am services. Nursery care is also available during other events and programs as scheduled and needed. Contact Sam Leahy for more information.

Music Programs for Children

Primary & Junior Prayz - The Primary Prayz (grades 1-3) and Junior Prayz (grades 4-6) choirs rehearse Wednesday evenings and sing the prelude for Sunday morning worship four to five times a year. The children learn Christian principles through song in addition to experiencing music through singing and playing instruments. Cherub's Choir is a music and movement program for children age 3 through Kindergarten. The children learn about Christian values through song in a nurturing environment and develop motor skills through movement and playing instruments. They also perform at various worship services and events throughout the year. Parents are encouraged to attend rehearsals with their children. Meets Wednesday night at 6:30pm. Contact Kay Coryell for more information.

Tone Chimes - Children in grades 4-6 are invited to participate in this fun and musical program. No experience necessary. Meets Wednesday nights at 7:25pm. Meets Wednesday night at 6:30pm. Contact Kay Coryell for more information.

Other Programs & Events for Children & Families

SLY, Jr. - is our fellowship program for children in grades 5 & 6 and meets once or twice a month to have fun, learn, and discuss various aspects of the Christian faith. Click here for current schedule. Email Sharon for more information.

Acolytes - An opportunity for children in 3rd-6th grade to participates as Acolytes in the worship service.

Children & Chattin'- is our St. Luke's playgroup. Meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursday mornings.

God & Country Program - is designed for kids grades 1-12 who are interested in growing in faith and service. Can be connected to a local scouting program.

Family Movie Night - Quarterly families gather at the church for a family friendly movie, popcorn, and time together. Bring your pj's and blankets!

Parent's Night Out - is a cooperative group of families with young children who gather once a month to alternate providing childcare so that other parents can enjoy an evening out.

Wacky Wednesdays - Summer fun events six Wednesday mornings during the summer for kids ages 3 through grade 3. Registration is required.

Vacation Bible School - is our yearly summer highlight. Each summer children come and enjoy learning Christian principles in a fun-filled environment. Our morning VBS is held in late June for one week. And our evening program is held in mid July for 4 days. Open to children age 3 by Sept. 30 through entering 5th grade.

Fall Festival - Each year the youth put on an afternoon of fun for our children.

Tree Lighting - happens the Sunday after Thanksgiving each year to welcome the Advent season. This special evening service for families concludes with the lighting of our tree!

Children's Christmas Pageant - is a musical presentation of the Christmas story presented by our Sunday School children.

Our Children's Christmas Eve - Services on Christmas Eve are geared towards both children and adults.

Easter Fun Day - the Saturday before Palm Sunday where we gather for a morning of fun, games, crafts, and much more.

Children's Dinner Theater - is our annual spring show performed by and for children. A kid-friendly dinner is served before the show. This year the dinner and show is May 6, 2011!

Family Camp - Every summer our families gather for informal and recreational camping over a week in late July. Campfires, games, potlucks, and more are all a part of this great experience.

Holiday Shop - provides an affordable Christmas shopping experience for children up to age 12.
